Cause, baby, you're a firework!

Is anyone else excited that the 4th of July is this week?! It has always been my favorite holiday...and not just because I get to wear stripes! There is nothing better to me than a perfect summer day filled with family, friends, fireworks and good food.  To me, this is what life is all about! Maybe I love this holiday so much because everyone seems so happy! I seriously don't think it's possible to watch fireworks and not be in complete bliss! Even though we only celebrate the 4th of July once a year, I still think we can make everyday feel like fireworks! No matter what is going on right now you can BE the firework in your own life!
Katy Perry says it way better than I ever could...

Do you ever feel like a plastic bag
Drifting through the wind, wanting to start again?
Do you ever feel, feel so paper thin
Like a house of cards, one blow from caving in?

Do you ever feel already buried deep six feet under?
Screams but no one seems to hear a thing
Do you know that there's still a chance for you
'cause there's a spark in you?

You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July
Cause, baby, you're a firework
Come on, show them what you're worth

You don't have to feel like a wasted space
You're original, cannot be replaced
If you only knew what the future holds
After a hurricane comes a rainbow

Maybe a reason why all the doors are closed
So you could open one that leads you to the perfect road
like a lightning bolt, your heart will glow
And when it's time you'll know

You just gotta ignite the light and let it shine
Just own the night like the 4th of July
Boom Boom Boom
Even brighter than the moon, moon moon
It's always been inside of you, you, you
And now it's time to let it through

'Cause, baby, you're a firework!!!

I freaking love Katy Perry and this song so much! Never give up! Never stop believing your life can be anything you want it to be! Don't be like everyone YOU! Whoever that might be! Everyone is so unique and lovely and wonderful in their own special way. It would be a shame to hide the light that shines within each and everyone of us! Hope you all have an amazing day and an even better 4th of July!

Let the dress be perfect...

Okay so I'm sure it's not a big surprise that I love this dress!  I mean I wouldn't be wearing it pretty much every other day and posting it if I didn't right?! I also love these shoes and the bracelets I'm wearing which is also pretty obvious. Lately though I've been thinking about all the not so obvious things. The things people don't see. I started my blog because I love to share what I love. I have always been very expressive when it comes to my passions.
Starting this blog opened up an entirely new world to me filled with hundreds of fashion and beauty bloggers! Blame it on my Psychology Degree but it has been very interesting to notice the patterns of "perfection" I see over and over again being posted on social media daily. I totally get that nobody wants to blog or share about their baby barfing on them or finding out they have a warrant out for their arrest because of a forgotten unpaid ticket (that may or may not have happened to me this last week;) but at the same time I wonder what is really real and what's not?
Maybe everyone I see on social media really does have the perfect life they portray. Well, I'm here to tell you I don't! I may have the perfect dress and shoes but not the perfect life!;) It's funny because I am a very very private person when it comes to my personal life and I am so open when it comes to stuff I love like fashion, beauty, cooking etc...but looking at my instagram and blog I realize it looks just like every other bloggers. It looks like my life is all roses and rainbows and I just want to be real and share with you that it's not!
Don't get me wrong...I am so grateful for many things about my life but it hasn't been easy. I haven't just had a rough day...I've had like a rough decade! Even the little Capricorn in me who is a perfectionist and wants everything to look and be perfect is so over it! Like if the show Days of our Lives needs any new material for some episodes just send them my way! I sometimes just have to laugh about it so I don't cry. And other times I wonder why I have had so many trials when it seems like others have none. But at the end of the day I know everything happens for a reason. Things, situations, people all come into our life to teach us and hopefully we learn. Even as I'm writing this I'm still going through things that I struggle with daily. I think sometimes we have to keep going through hard times until we learn the lessons, grow, change, progress and help other people. Maybe I should have saved this little entry for my journal and maybe I'm writing this more for myself. But even if this helps one person feel better knowing that it's ok not to be perfect or have the perfect life or husband or kids or house or whatever then that makes me happy! I say let the dress be perfect and let your life be whatever it may be! Hope you all have an amazing weekend! Here is a quote that I just love! Hope you all like!

"There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful than a woman being unapologetically herself. Comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the essence of beauty."

Gone with the wind...almost! :)

People!! There was a windy windy windstorm but luckily my hair and I survived...barely!!! I feel if you ever get stuck in a windstorm you definitely should be wearing a Kimono! It just floats and flies around like it was made for the wind! This outfit pretty much showcases all of my favorite things right now! Hats, kimonos, short shorts, gladiator sandals, little bags. Let's not forget my obsession with my gold (of course) Alex and Ani bracelets! I love wearing anything that symbolizes or has meaning to me. This outfit is so easy to wear and perfect for a summer day...or crazy windstorm! ;) Hope you all have an amazing weekend! I am headed to Cali so follow my instagram @ms_krissycoco to see my Cali looks and adventures!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope you all had an amazing weekend! I had such a relaxing time hanging out with family and friends.  One of my favorite things to do is take walks and I think my little friend Bailey likes it too! I love this warm weather and getting to wear bright colors, sundresses and fun flats! I always wear some sort of hat when I'm out and about in the sun to cover my skin from skin damage (I did enough of that in my teens!) I love this floppy hat I found at Nordstrom and am excited to wear it all summer long! So, get your hats and sunnies and sundresses and let's all have a sunny week! :)
