Let the dress be perfect...

Okay so I'm sure it's not a big surprise that I love this dress!  I mean I wouldn't be wearing it pretty much every other day and posting it if I didn't right?! I also love these shoes and the bracelets I'm wearing which is also pretty obvious. Lately though I've been thinking about all the not so obvious things. The things people don't see. I started my blog because I love to share what I love. I have always been very expressive when it comes to my passions.
Starting this blog opened up an entirely new world to me filled with hundreds of fashion and beauty bloggers! Blame it on my Psychology Degree but it has been very interesting to notice the patterns of "perfection" I see over and over again being posted on social media daily. I totally get that nobody wants to blog or share about their baby barfing on them or finding out they have a warrant out for their arrest because of a forgotten unpaid ticket (that may or may not have happened to me this last week;) but at the same time I wonder what is really real and what's not?
Maybe everyone I see on social media really does have the perfect life they portray. Well, I'm here to tell you I don't! I may have the perfect dress and shoes but not the perfect life!;) It's funny because I am a very very private person when it comes to my personal life and I am so open when it comes to stuff I love like fashion, beauty, cooking etc...but looking at my instagram and blog I realize it looks just like every other bloggers. It looks like my life is all roses and rainbows and I just want to be real and share with you that it's not!
Don't get me wrong...I am so grateful for many things about my life but it hasn't been easy. I haven't just had a rough day...I've had like a rough decade! Even the little Capricorn in me who is a perfectionist and wants everything to look and be perfect is so over it! Like if the show Days of our Lives needs any new material for some episodes just send them my way! I sometimes just have to laugh about it so I don't cry. And other times I wonder why I have had so many trials when it seems like others have none. But at the end of the day I know everything happens for a reason. Things, situations, people all come into our life to teach us and hopefully we learn. Even as I'm writing this I'm still going through things that I struggle with daily. I think sometimes we have to keep going through hard times until we learn the lessons, grow, change, progress and help other people. Maybe I should have saved this little entry for my journal and maybe I'm writing this more for myself. But even if this helps one person feel better knowing that it's ok not to be perfect or have the perfect life or husband or kids or house or whatever then that makes me happy! I say let the dress be perfect and let your life be whatever it may be! Hope you all have an amazing weekend! Here is a quote that I just love! Hope you all like!

"There is nothing more rare, nor more beautiful than a woman being unapologetically herself. Comfortable in her perfect imperfection. To me, that is the essence of beauty."

  1. Love this Kris!! Thanks for sharing. Totally agree about life seeming perfect. I'm a private person too so it's hard for me to open up sometimes. Love you! xoxo
